These crisp and bold pieces from LA based Robert Moreland, are quite intriguing. Playful yet serious and with such presence. They are fabricated from hand stretched canvas over wood, sometimes leather and of course paint. The minimalism is restful and calming – the artist’s aim is for each to ‘exist as a dynamic object of focus’ rather than to produce distractions. And this he has achieved. Moreland’s work is part of the Frederick R. Wiseman collection.
